Pinterest: Tattoos

Welcome Back!!

Today we have another Pinterest board of mine and it may be a controversial topic to some people, and if you are one of those people, please no negative comments, just don't look. The board I chose for today was my tattoo board. About a year ago I got my first tattoo as sort of a spur-of-the-moment thing. I knew what I had wanted for a long time, but just woke up one day knowing that if I didn't do it that day I never would. So I went to the tattoo parlor and just got it over with. It's on the outside of my right foot and says "The Past Was Practice," something that is definitely true considered all the things that have happened throughout my life so far that I have not let define me.

Ever since I got my tattoo I have been obsessed and will be getting my next one in May as a birthday present to myself, just like my first one. I began looking all over Pinterest for inspiration and haven't quite found the right thing yet, but along the way I have come across some of the most simple, as well as most intricate, tattoos I have ever seen and I thought I would share some with you today.

First I will be showing you some of my favorite simple tattoos. Images and words that may seem insignificant to one person, but mean the world to another. The one right below on the back of the heels was originally where I wanted my first tattoo, but with the saying "Forever Young," so hopefully I can get that one some day. But these tattoos are so simple and small, easy to hide, but still there to make a statement and show individuality.

But of course during all of my searching I have come across tons of intricate, thousand dollar tattoos that, even if you hate the idea of placing permanent ink on your body, you have to respect the artistry. The hours and money put into these tattoos prove that the person is telling a story, that these tattoos mean something to them. Also, I feel as though tattooing should have its own section in art museums because seriously look at the pictures below, this is art!

One thing I have learned from getting my own tattoo, having multiple friends and family members who have tattoos and hours of looking through pictures is that you should never judge someone by what they choose to put on their bodies. You may never understand it, but that doesn't matter to them. They got these tattoos for their own reasons, and your snide remarks or weird looks will never take away the fact that these stories, memories or ways of life will always be with them.

Favorite Movies - Comedies

Welcome Back!!

Back in December I did a post covering some of my favorite Christmas/holiday movies, so I figured I would give you guys a closer look into my personal favorites with a look at my favorite comedies. Please no comments on how the movies may be inappropriate but instead post some of your favorite comedies. Hopefully some of my favorites will get you encouraged to watch some new movies and I can watch some of your suggestions. So…here we go!

Of course there are many, many more comedies that I love and that always put me in a good mood, but these are some of my favorites. Comment some of your favorites below and I'll be sure to check them out if I haven't seen them yet!

Love Songs!

Welcome Back!!

In honor of Valentine's Day last weekend, as well and Robbie and I's one year anniversary coming up tomorrow I thought I would take some time to create a post dedicated to all of my favorite love songs. None of them have any particular meaning behind them except for the fact that I just generally enjoy listening to them. Now as I just stated, Robbie and I's one year anniversary is tomorrow, and contrary to what I usually do when we celebrate a big milestone I will not be posting anything about it. This is the biggest thing that has happened in our relationship and we feel that we should keep it to ourselves, making it special just for the two of us. Besides you guys get enough gush about him already! Well now that that is out of the way, lets get started on love songs. These won't all be happy, sappy love songs. When I say "love song" I mean romantic songs, breakup songs, goofy songs, etc. This will also be giving you guys an insight into ALL of the genres of music that I like, instead of just pop!

And that last song truly is a love song because it is the song I want played at my wedding! :)

Valentine's Weekend

Welcome Back!!

Okay so you all know that this past weekend was Valentine's Day, but for Robbie and I it was also his fraternity's formal in Chicago. And since our one year anniversary is coming up this weekend we figured we would just celebrate everything in while in Chicago! It was something I had been looking forward to for a month and that fact that it happened and everything went perfectly made it even better than I expected. So, let's dive on in!

Day 1: So we left Bloomington Friday afternoon in the midst of a snowstorm and tried to brave our way through the storm. Before we left however I gave Robbie his present; a lion from build-a-bear with a Heart Throb sweatshirt on! Hopefully he liked it ha :)We saw so many cars, trucks and even semis off the road and we just kept hoping we could get through safely. At one point we even had to pull over to break the ice off of my windshield vipers that had built up while driving. Thankfully after 5 hours we finally made it to Chicago!!  We checked into our beautiful hotel and after getting settled decided to head to Navy Pier for dinner. Robbie, who is obsessed with shrimp, decided to go to Bubba Gump for dinner which was absolutely delicious. Right outside Navy Pier were these HUGE snow sculptures that artists had made for Snow Fest Chicago one week beforehand. When we finally got back to our hotel we just relaxed and watched tv, both stressed from the long, snowy drive up there.

Day 2: The next day, after waking up to Starbucks from my wonderful Robbie, we decided to go to Millennium Park to see the Bean. It may not seem like a big deal but I thought it was so much fun! Next we just decided to walk around until we decided to eat some lunch, some real Chicago hotdogs, followed by delicious cookies and chocolate covered strawberries! Next we ventured around and went shopping on Michigan which was amazing! I wish I was rich lol but I still got to at least go inside Tiffany's which just put me in the best mood! Also we went inside the American Girl Store, fulfilling a childhood dream :) After heading back to the hotel we decided to head back to Navy Pier and grab some dinner before getting ready for the formal. While there we saw a stretch Hummer limo with suicide doors, so basically the coolest thing I've ever seen. Next came time to get ready for formal! Let me just say that my boyfriend is one handsome man, and of course everything I was wearing was from Charlotte Russe. Formal was held in Willis Tower with an amazing view from the 67th floor. Dancing and talking to all of our friends was so fun, but we all of course wanted to head back to the hotel and NEVER consume any alcohol. Lucky for us, one of Robbie's brothers was able to find us a ride home, in a limo!! It felt just like prom, expect I was having fun ha! Anyway, back at the hotel we all changed back into comfy clothes and just hung out and relaxed the rest of the night, happy to be away from the stress of school!

Day 3: The time had finally come for us to go home, but before I started packing, I once again woke up to Starbucks! We checked out of the hotel, and after searching for quite some time to find a gas station, we were finally on the road back to Indiana. I can't explain just how much fun I had. It was wonderful to be away from school even just for a weekend with Robbie, relaxing and enjoying each others company.

Pinterest: Crafts

Welcome Back!!

Unlike my previous Pinterest posts that I have done, this crafts post will be consisting of crafts that I would like to do, as well as crafts from Pinterest that I have already tried and that turned out really well. Hopefully this gives you the confidence that even though it may look difficult, anyone can do anything they find on Pinterest.

Okay so come on, ever since you saw The Princess Diaries you've wanted to try this. Unfortunately this is not one of the crafts that I have tried but I am definitely going to this summer, hopefully making something super cute for my apartment. A word of warning though, make sure you have plenty of room, because the paint will splatter!

Now I am a girl to always have a candle burning in my room, no matter how hot it may be outside. It just relaxes me and helps me concentrate, so this is something that I have done SOOO many times. When your candles have been burned as far down as they will go, boil water and pour in the candle. This will melt the remainder of the was and bring it all to the top where it will solidify once again. once it has cooled and become a solid, break it in half and take the wax out. Make sure you also wash these containers afterward before you decide to do anything with them. In my makeup posts from a couple weeks ago, candle jars are what I made my makeup brush holders out of!

Now I have never had to do this but I feel that if I was in a long distance relationship this would be an amazing idea. A simply way to let your significant other know that you love them even when you aren't able to say it. You may never know which ones they open when and I feel that that adds some of the romanticism to this idea.

I haven't been able to paint of the walls in my dorms, and I'm not sure if i'll be able to in my apartment next year, but I think this is such a creative idea. By wrapping string around the paint roller before painting, you add a unique texture to every wall, never knowing just how it will look. A great idea for kids rooms.

As soon as I saw this over the summer I knew I wanted to do it. I had colorful Christmas lights that were hung up in my dorm from the previous year and went out to buy white tule right after I found them. By lightly tying the tule around the light strand you create a whole new look, and if you are a person who likes to leave the Christmas lights on at night, this dims down the lights and creates a more relaxing space. I love the way mine make my room feel like a movie theater with all of the lights off.

This is another craft that I have tried and loved. Just taking an old t-shirt and following the cutting patterns that accompanied the picture helped me create a whole new wardrobe of relaxing tanks for last summer, as well as getting rid of the huge t-shirts I no longer wore.

And this last one is probably one of the most unique and beautiful crafts that I have ever come across on Pinterest. By getting paint swatches in all different colors, you can make your walls vibrant and colorful without having to deal with the hassle of painting. Plus, it looks so different and will stand out to those who come to your house.

I hope seeing that I have tried conquering some of these crafts will make you guys feel comfortable doing the same thing. Remember that you can always look at more of my favorite crafts by clicking on my Pinterest button over to the right. I want to see what crafts you guys have tried and maybe I can try them as well.

Man Crush Monday

Welcome Back!!

So quite a few weeks ago I did a post for the popular Woman Crush Wednesday, so today I thought I would tackle Man Crush Monday! These pictures also all come from my Pinterest board entitled, "Will You Marry Me?" filled with pictures of celebrities, musicians and athletes that I find attractive. They are in no specific order and all have different reasons why I like them. So let's get started!

Blake Griffin, who plays for the Los Angeles Clippers, is my favorite pro basketball player and, yes it is because he can dunk and because he's just way too adorable! Plus the picture above is from my favorite commercial he has ever done! Just look at that smile guys, its perfect!

Cody Zeller, former Indiana basketball player, now a Charlotte Bobcat, is my favorite past and present IU player. His humbling personality, as well as physique makes him so deserving of the nickname, The Big Handsome!

Colin Kaepernick, quarterback for the San Fransisco 49s, may not have the best looking face, but I just love his tattoos! He defends them against all the negative scrutiny and doesn't let outside opinions from those who think they are ridiculous get him down. He got the tattoos for himself, not to make others happy.

Jeff Saturday is my favorite football player, no matter where he played and even that he no longer plays. Every girl falls for the piercing blue eyes, but I just want to give him a hug. He looks like such a friendly big teddy bear, and protector for his family. A true Colts player, he did what was right when he retired.

John Krasinski stole my heart from the moment I began watching The Office. His quirky comments and sarcasm make me laugh so hard I usually start snorting. And the way he treats Pam, I don't care if it is only a tv show, he's a true gentleman.

Mehcad Brooks has so many wonderful movies, as well as television shows, but my all time favorite is Glory Road. I felt like he truly captured the character and portrayed a story that really needed to be told. Plus, look at those abs! :)

Michael B. Jordan has to be the cutest person on the planet! His playfulness just makes me want to be his best friend. And the fact that he is best friends and roommates with Sterling from Ridiculousness makes it even cuter!

Pierre Garcon will always be a Colt in my eyes, but I'm happy that he was able to transfer to another team and keep playing. Seriously though guys look at that smile! And those dimples…dear lord!

Sterling Brim from Ridiculousness may be the most adorable, yet sexy man alive. His humor on the show always comes at just the right moment and when something catches him off guard and he really starts laughing, cutest laugh hands down!!

Tyga has been number one on my list for a long time, and not because he is a famous rapper or has a good body or anything like that. He is not married to Chyna, but they live together, have a son together and love each other more than anything and the fact that he is proving all negative stereotypes wrong makes him attractive to me!

But by far the number one man on my list when it comes to Man Crush Monday is Robbie, my wonderful boyfriend for almost a year now! I couldn't ask for anyone better, to laugh and joke with, to play video games with and to be living with next year. I love you!

I hope you guys have enjoyed staring at some man candy today, and remember that if you want to see more pictures of those men that I find attractive just click the link to my Pinterest page over to the right and check them all out!
