Thanksgiving Break

Hello Gorgeous!!
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend, and were able to make great new memories with your family, friends and other loved ones. I know for me, it was amazing to be away from school for a whole week, and be able to relax and just have fun with my family and my boyfriend. My break started on Friday, November 22nd, which also happened to be my and Robbie's nine month, and we went to Runcible Spoon, one of my favorite restaurants in Bloomington. And because he knows me way too well, Robbie took me to the candy store afterward! :)

After relaxing all day Saturday, I had to head back to work on Sunday, as well as have a work meeting. It was considered a work "party/meeting," so we all dressed up and had holiday treats. And can I just say how amazing everyone I work with is; they all looked wonderful, and we can always laugh with each other.

During the rest of the week Robbie and I just relaxed and enjoyed the time away from work and school. I did some major baking which I already uploaded for you guys, and we saw Catching Fire, which was AWESOME!!!!! Also, I turned into a grown up by signing my first lease for my apartment for next year!!!

Thanksgiving, as always, was spent with family, great food, and so many laughs. We may not have had as many people as we usually do, but it was still good getting to see everyone, and eating something other than dorm food.

And then came Black Friday!! Robbie and I went out at 6 o'clock on Thursday night, and stopped at Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and Target. We were able to get most of the stuff that we needed but I was able to pick up the remainder of things during my break at work. I worked for 9 hours at Charlotte Russe, and even though that's the longest shift I have ever worked, it went by so fast. The holiday spirit was definitely in the air! :)

Well I know that I have been slacking with posts this week, but as soon as I'm back at school, everything will be back to normal! I hope you all had a great break, and I'll see you next time!
Love you :)

And The Christmas Cooking Begins….

Hello Gorgeous!
I know I forgot to do Music Monday the other day, but going home and getting settled in has taken up my time, so I promise next Monday will be amazing! So as I mentioned in my Thanksgiving Traditions video, baking Christmas cookies is one of my most favorite things to do, and so naturally I started this week.

Chocolate Chip-Oatmeal Shortbread Cookies
This was the first time I had made these cookies, and I can promise you it will definitely not be the last. These are easily a Christmas cookie must for years to come. And if you happen to not be a fan of oatmeal, you can easily leave it out and just make chocolate chip shortbread cookies.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies
I made these for the first time last year, and all of my family and friends fell in love. It's a great way to incorporate seasonal pumpkin, but without the overpowering pumpkin taste people usually don't like with pumpkin pie, or pumpkin pudding. They do however have pumpkin pie spice in them, which contains cinnamon, so if you no someone allergic to cinnamon, like my mom, these are not the cookies for you.

Cherry-Topped Chocolate Tassies

These little Christmas treats have to be the cutest ones I've ever made. This is the second time that I've made these and I know I will continue making them for years. And yes, they're basically mini cupcakes filled with chocolate chips, and they are DELICIOUS!

Heavenly Chocolate Mousse Bars

The first image shows the base of the bars, sugar cookie. Next, comes the mousse aspect, cream cheese, chocolate chips and whipping cream (no calories at all lol). And the third picture shows the finished product, topped with melted chocolate chips mixed with whipping cream. I cannot wait to try these in the morning!!

Raspberry Almond Shortbread Thumbprints

I have been making these cookies during the holidays since I was a little girl and my grandma and I would have baking days. These are my all time favorite cookies, not only to make, but to eat of course. They bring back wonderful memories and always bring a smile to my face. However, if you don't like raspberries, DO NOT MAKE THEM! The raspberry flavor is overwhelming. They are not the most attractive cookies, but they are truly delicious!

I hope these all look just as delicious to you as they do to me, and if you would like the recipes just comment below and I will be happy to give them to you! I promise you this is only the beginning of my Christmas cookie craziness!!

All Hail The Queen

Today marks the 100th blog post for Miss Danyell Bailey, the inspiration behind my wanting to create a blog. She is definitely a true blogger and posts almost everyday to keep her fans updated! If you love fashion, makeup and retail advice, please go check her out, I know you won't be disappointed!!

Dress To Impress

As the old saying goes, Dress To Impress, and while many people don't take this too seriously, I have learned recently that this statement holds true. Today I was scheduled to be a discussion leader in my hardest class, Education and American Culture, with my hardest professor. Teaching about violence in our school system, I knew that the class wouldn't want to give much feedback, with it being such a heavy topic. I had my questions all prepared and knew exactly how I would interact with and run the discussion, but waking up this morning I was still nervous. When the concept of Dress To Impress popped into my head, I thought I would give it a try; and let me tell you, it worked. I wore black leggings with a black and white stripped that has an open back. I pair this with stubbed black combat boots, a hot pink statement necklace and my black, cheetah watch; wearing my glasses also made me feel super smart and prepared. As soon as I walked into my first class I received three compliments on my outfit, which made my confidence grow even higher. I definitely learned that by dressing up and feeling pretty and confident can make your attitude towards the whole day that much better.

11/15-11/17 Weekend

I thought I would fill you guys in on my crazy, hectic weekend!

Over the past weekend I was able to pick up some necessities, as well as a few desires. For starters, what girl doesn't need a variety of cute sweaters for winter? That was my thought process when buying three of them, as well as blouse and a new statement necklace.
This first sweater caught my eye as soon as I walked into work on Saturday and I knew I would have to come back and get it. I love tribal print, and especially that it is a color that I will be able to wear when I'm super pale in the dead of winter. The back is all black, as well as the mid-sleeve and down. Even though this sweater is quite thin, it still seems like it will keep me plenty warm under a nice jacket.

Apparently Charlotte Russe has had this shirt for awhile but I had never seen and almost died when I finally discovered it. I love bows and that fact that this shirt has a giant bow on the back just makes me love it even more. It's a very thin, sheer material but will look great with a tank or a bandeau underneath. I feel like black and maroon are going to be my go-to colors this winter.

Purchased online, this is one heavy duty sweater. There is no way I will ever be cold while wearing this!!! Super think, and longer in the back I can already tell that this sweater will be worn multiple, multiple, multiple times this winter. Also, I love the embellishments on the shoulders, it adds a little flare to just a plain black sweater.

Also purchased online, this sweater brings back my love for tribal/aztec print. The colors automatically caught my eye and I couldn't wait for it to come in to try it on. the gray is definitely a thin material but the color on the front adds an extra layer of warmth. Easily a way to brighten up a snowy, winter day.

Before working at Charlotte Russe I was never really that into accessories, but my love has blossomed over the past four months and i'm beginning to real love the individuality that accessories give a person. You can take a simple outfit and make it totally "you" with the accessories you pick out. I saw this online and, being hot pink, I knew I had to add it to my growing collection. This piece will brighten up any outfit and draw attention, something every girl loves.

Also, this weekend my friends and I had general admission tickets to the IU basketball game again Samford, which we won, of course. While standing in line, a random person came up to us with a poster board and markers and asked us if we wanted to make a sign; of course i wanted to make a sign.
Without a doubt I knew I would make a sign for my favorite player, #12 Hanner Perea!

We ended up being three rows up from the court, which made me almost pee my pants!

And this, my partner in crime, my basketball lover, my other half, is my best friend Amanda! Always right by my side for everything Indiana Basketball!

On Saturday night my aunt, uncle, cousins and dad came down to visit and took Amanda and I to Mother Bears, one of the best pizza places on the planet. It was so great getting to see my family, and even though I'll be home in five days, it made me so happy to have a little piece of home down here in Bloomington, even if only for a couple hours.

And to cap off my hectic weekend, Sunday Bloomington, Indiana, had tornado warnings and where of all places did my boyfriend and I get stuck in a torrential downpour?? A bus stop! Needless to say we were soaked, but were laughing the whole time!

Well I hope you all had a great weekend as well. Now its time to finish out this week strong and go home for Thanksgiving break!
I love you!

Music Monday

Hello Gorgeous!
Today is the first ever installment of Music Monday!!!
Each Monday I will give a list of anything that has to do with music. It could be favorite songs, favorite artists, genres, lyrics, instruments, etc. Basically anything that has to do with music.
This first week's list consists of songs that have been helping me get through the past couple of very, very stressful weeks. Whether its the beat or the lyrics, these songs have become my best friends recently, so I hope you enjoy!

The songs are in no particular order, and are definitely NOT all the same genre, not even close. But the lyrics, rhythm and beat all just somehow get to me and help me get through that last problem, finish that essay or just blow off steam. I hope you all enjoy!

Small Shopping Trip!
Hello Gorgeous!
This past Friday was payday, and I've been really good at not spending money on myself recently and felt that with all the hard work I've been doing at school, as well as at my actual jobs, I deserved to treat myself. It also helped that employees got a larger percentage off this weekend ;)
The first purchase was these lovely boots! I had never really been a fan of brown boots, but these just seems to catch my eye, and after trying them on I knew I had to get them. They fit perfectly and are extremely comfortable. For anyone else who wants to go snag their own pair, they are from Charlotte Russe, of course, and are usually $45.50, but all boots are on sale right now for $30!

The second purchase was this insanely awesome pair of shoes, also from Charlotte Russe. I felt like these would be good to wear to work for comfort, but also look really cool at the same time. In person they are super shiny, too! Also, they are NOT the shoes with the hidden wedges! Go get your own for $38.50.
And lastly, I got these adorable earrings! I love the fact that they match, but that I could also switch them all up and they would still make sense if I wore them together. Plus, as I have mentioned so many times before, I love the idea of love, so earrings that deal with love…perfect! Go get your own for $6.00, or 2 for $10!

Also, in case you guys haven't noticed, I will always be posting about things I buy from work and will ALWAYS let you know the prices, and any sales that are going on so you can take advantage of them as well!
:)

Hello Gorgeous!
With all the stress that this week has added to my already hectic life, I decided that today I definitely needed some retail and puppy therapy. And who better to enjoy this with than my best friend!
So in the mall here they have a pet store where you can hold and play with any of the dogs you want! I know, what a perfect idea!!! Well anyway, I found this beautiful little girl today and instantly fell in love. If you have watched any of my other videos you will know that I have a miniature schnauzer at home named Max, who is my handsome man. So anytime that I see they have a miniature schnauzer I pounce on it! I decided on naming this little beauty Rosie, but she costs $750!!!! Anyone want to make donations?? :)
Now onto the retail therapy! The earrings above are from Francesca's, which I usually don't like spend money there because everything seems to be over priced. But I couldn't pass up these super cute earrings! They were $16.00 which bothered me a little bit, but I can wear them to work and as soon as I get a new straightener, they'll look great with my hair down!

And the bow I bought from Wet Seal for $7.50, which for a bow is totally worth it to me! I love bows so so much and being so huge and sparkly, I couldn't pass it up!

Every girl needs a little retail therapy every now and then, and I'm quite proud of myself for only spending $30! Enjoy your night guys, I love you!

Hey guys!
Pardon my horrible hair and no makeup!!!!

Hey Guys!
I know I haven't posted in a couple days, but I've been super swamped with midterm essays. Either way I thought I would show you something that made me smile this morning, and tomorrow I'll be back to doing real postings!
Have a great day!

Fall is easily one of my favorite times of year, and today was absolutely beautiful! The trees are just know hitting that point where they become gorgeous and make even rainy days a little bit brighter. Well, I fell under the typical photographer spell today and took some pictures around campus on my way to class. They were taken on my phone, so not the best quality but still captures the beauty of the season.
