Summer Reading List - Here Comes The Nerd

Welcome Back!!

So it should come as no surprise to you guys that I absolutely LOVE to read, and now that summer is fast approaching I have finally made my list of all the books I want to finish before returning to school. During the summer, I read constantly. I'm not one of those people who can just lay out by the pool with my eyes closed for hours on end, so I take a book. Getting tan while reading, sounds good to me! Some  of the books on the list I have already read and am just wanting to relive them, while others are considered elementary books, but I was never assigned to read them so why not do it now? Let's get started!

I have actually already started this book because as soon as heard about I knew I was going to love it. I'm about halfway done and so far its a wonderful combination of fiction, mystery, horror and photography. It's definitely one that I can't put down!

Hollow City is the second novel of Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children, so obviously as soon as I finish the first one I'll be moving on to this!

Most people were required to read The Giver sometime in the primary schooling career, but not me! So with the movie coming out this year I figured now would be the best time to see what all the hype was about.

Yes, I am that person who still hasn't read the Harry Potter series; I've seen all the movies but never had the patience when I was younger to sit down and read all the books. This is definitely the series I'm most excited to read.

While looking through popular book club books The Kite Runner always shows up, and after reading a brief summary of what it's about I knew this was something I had to experience.

I actually started reading The Help last summer, but as soon as I got back to school my schedule just got so hectic that I had to stop. This will be the first on my list this summer so I can make sure I have enough time to finish it.

I had actually never heard of this book, but finally saw a trailer for it this past week and it looked amazing. Before I see the movie however, I have to read the book, something I 'm trying to get better at.

I have already read The Road twice before but it is one of my absolute favorites. It sounds morbid but I guess I just have a thing for post-apocalyptic literature. Any suggestions?

Another book that I was never required to read throughout school and also one that has already been turned into a movie, The Book Thief combines so many of my favorite things. This was a must!

And yet again, another popular novel that I was never required to read in school. I guess its better late than never, right?

Finally, The Secret Life of Bees. I've seen the movie and absolutely loved it so I hope the book is ten times better. I just know it will be.

If you guys have any suggestions or comments to make on these books or others that I should read this summer please let me know. And when I finish all of these I will be doing another post, most likely a video, to give you my reactions to everything that happened!
See You Soon!

Disney Has A Huge Impact On Every Life, Let's See How It Has Impacted Me Part 2

Welcome Back!!

Earlier this week I posted part one of the Disney Challenge that my cousin posted on her InstaGram, and I explained how I feel that Disney has worked its way into everyones hearts. No matter how old your are there is always something to learn from Disney movies and bring a smile to your face. So today I will be continuing with part 2 of the challenge, lets get started.

16. Favorite Disney Opening
Blue Castle vs. Train Leading Past The Castle
Out of these two I would have to pick the blue castle just because it is what I grew up seeing, but I do love the more recent one of just the castle with the fireworks behind it.

29. What Moment Would You Want To Experience Yourself
I already posted a video above, but the Toxicity Challenge from Monsters University. I don't know how you could watch that and not crack up!

30. How Has Disney Made An Impact On Your Life
I have stated this at the beginning at both part 1 and part 2 posts but Disney has brought so much joy to my life over the past 19 years. The lessons that are incorporated throughout Disney movies, as well as adult humor, wonderful songs and such memorable, quotable lines are all things that make Disney such a necessary thing in the life of children and everyone else. Disney has taught me to be strong, stick up for myself and that breaking into song at random times is completely acceptable! :)

31. Favorite Ending
Monsters University
It's a horrible video but I just love the fact that the ending to the second movie leads up to the entire first movie, such a cool concept.

I hope you guys have enjoyed reading through my Disney Challenge, and if you have any other challenges that you would like to see me do please let me know. They're really fun and a creative way to show you guys amore in depth look at who I really am!

Spring Shopping - Bring On The Sun!

Welcome Back!!

Yesterday I finally gave in and went spring shopping and it could not have gotten me in a better mood. I'm so sick and tired of this cold weather and the stupid fluctuations in the weather, which I guess I should be used to after living in Indiana my whole life. But this year its just ridiculous!!! So my goal yesterday was to get as much spring and summer clothing and accessories as I could, hoping that by buying them it would encourage spring to finally come out of its hiding place. Everything I got was either from Carson's or Charlotte Russe.

The song playing throughout is Heads Will Roll from the Project X soundtrack. I do not own the rights to any music played throughout my videos.

Song Challenge Day 6 - 9!

Welcome Back!!

Due to the fact that I know I will be extremely busy this weekend working and studying for midterms I figured I would get a head start on the Song Challenge.

Day 6: A Song That Reminds You Of Somewhere

Soak Up The Sun - Sheryl Crow
When I was in second grade by best friend at the time moved out to Las Vegas, so naturally, my parents decided that after about a year we would go out and I could visit her. After a couple visits however it just turned into my family going to Las Vegas, I quickly lost touch with Taylor. Since I am not 21 I was never able to gamble, but each and every day my mom and I would go to the pool and be little fishes. Over the 6 years that we would go to Las Vegas this song was ALWAYS playing out by the pool, so now every time I hear it it takes me back to family vacations and enjoy the sun with my mom, dad and grandma.

Day 7: A Song That Reminds You Of A Certain Event

Give Me Everything Tonight - Pitbull
No matter how old I am, every time I hear this song I will always be taken back to my junior prom. My boyfriend at the time lived in Georgia and his parents let him fly up just for the weekend to take me to prom. All of my best friends went as well, and we got a limo and went to dinner and it was just the typical prom night that everyone talks about. It was amazing getting to just hang out with all of my friends, dancing while not looking like an idiot because everyone else was dancing as well. Also, getting to wear a cinderella ball gown made it even better.

Day 8: A Song That You Know All Of The Words To

Lightweight - Demi Lovato
This past summer Robbie and I, along with a couple of his friends, went to Kings Island for the day. Right before we were leaving it starting pouring down rain and we had to run to the car, getting soaked along the way. Once safe in the car and on the road heading home Robbie plugged in his iPod and just hit shuffle. This song was one of the first to come on and I instantly fell in love. It defines me word for word how I act when I'm in a relationship or starting to like someone, so I had a connection to it that made me want to listen everyday. Being one of the most played songs on my phone, its no doubt that I know every word.

Day 9: A Song That You Can Dance To

Talk Dirty - Jason Derulo feat. 2 Chainz
I really don't know how anyone could hear this song and not automatically want to dance. The beat is just too damn awesome. But the really embarrassing part is that when I'm alone I try to dance like Jason Derulo does during the chorus….we should just leave the dancing to him. Seriously if you are ever in a bad mood, just turn this song on and you will instantly feel better.

Song Challenge 4 and 5!

Welcome Back!!

Continuing the 30 Day Song Challenge, today we have 4. A song that makes me sad, and 5. A song that reminds me of someone.

4. A Song That Makes Me Sad

Christmas In Heaven By Scotty McCreery
As soon as this cd came out in December 2012 I was automatically in love. Scotty McCreery was one of my favorite American Idols ever to grace the show and Christmas music always makes me so happy, but combining the two….oh dear lord! This song definitely puts me in the holiday spirit but also reminds me that I have family members and friends who are no longer enjoying the holidays with their families. Its nice to have a song that gives a glimpse into just what your loved ones are doing during the holidays. I had never heard a Christmas song about such a topic, but it has easily become one of my favorites.

5. A Song That Reminds Me Of Someone

Switch Lanes By Tyga
Every year a sorority at Indiana University puts on a fundraiser to raise money for breast cancer called Big Man On Campus, and this past year Robbie participated in it. He and a couple of his friends put together a dance to perform during the show and this song was incorporated within the song mashup. This song always makes me think of Robbie because being apart of such an extraordinary fundraiser showed me how passionate he can be about something he sets his mind to. Also, doing something to benefit breast cancer research meant a lot to me as well.

Random Rant #2

Welcome Back!!

Before criticizing that I am not wearing any makeup and that my hair is not done, please watch the entire video to find out why! Don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel as well.

Day 3: A Song That Makes You Happy

Welcome Back!!

Day 3: A Song That Makes You Happy

Classic - MKTO
I just want to know how you could not automatically have a smile on your face when listening to this song. It has such a 90's and early 2000's boy band feel to it which is what I love so much, plus they both look really handsome in the music video. The beat and the fact that the song is about love is what makes me so happy, because like I've said so many times before, I'm a sucker for love.

30 Day Song Challenge

Welcome Back!!

So I meant to start this two days ago but I have been working like crazy this weekend, as well as studying for my six tests that I have this week!! But anyway I say a post on Pinterest the other day about the 30 Day Song Challenge and I thought I would give it a try. It's also going to be a way to keep me accountable and posting every single day, but also giving you guys a better insight into my personality and my life from the stories I tell that correspond with the songs. Below you'll find the 30 Day Song Challenge as well as my first two songs.

Day 1: My Favorite Song

My favorite song for the past year has been Mirrors by Justin Timberlake. Besides the beat, the amazing and heartfelt lyrics and the incredibly sweet music video, this song means so much to me because it was one of the first songs Robbie and I ever danced to. Feeling that Robbie is my other half, this song captures the emotion perfectly which I've never experienced from any other song. Also, I feel that no other romantic song uses such a creative way to describe loving someone who is your other half.

Day 2: My Least Favorite Song

Robbie showed me this song when we first started dating and it continues to freak me out 100% to this day!!!!! I just don't understand anything about it, and it makes NO SENSE!!! Who would listen to this????
