A Look Back…2013

Welcome Back!

This past year has been full of crazy ups and downs, some very memorable moments and some I wish I could have done differently, but for the most part, 2013 was a wonderful year with wonderful memories! This post will be dedicated to those memories and a look back at everything that has happened to me, good and bad, throughout this past year.

1. Robbie Robinson

Easily the best thing that happened to me in 2013 was meeting this wonderful man. Never has someone so genuine, heartfelt and loving walked into my life and I don't intend to let him walk out. For the past ten months we have been through some of the most trying times a couple can endure, but we have managed to make it through even stronger than before. Robbie gives me a sense of reality that I don't feel I had before meeting him. I now know exactly what path I need to take in order to make my dreams come true, and I want him standing next to me the entire time. He has brought out my inner nerd, which matches perfectly with his inner dork, and has shown me that just because we are both growing up, it doesn't mean we have to leave childhood behind. From our spur of the moment dates, to simply playing video games, Robbie Robinson has been such a huge blessing to my life in 2013, and I cannot wait to see what 2014 holds.

2. Indiana University
Even though 2013 was not the first year I have attended Indiana University, it was just another year that I was reminded how lucky I am to be able to call this place my home. The city of Bloomington is a beautiful place, but what really draws people in has to be IU, easily the most beautiful campus in Indiana, and most likely the country. Everyone here is dedicated to helping you succeed and making sure that you have fun while doing so. I chose the picture above because one of my favorite things about IU is the feeling of being in Assembly Hall, surrounded by fellow students, all excited to see the Hoosiers play. The legacy and tradition that this school holds can be seen across campus, as well as in each and every student, all proud to call themselves HOOSIERS! 2014, give me one incredible year!

3. Charlotte Russe
I've had multiple jobs before but done that I have loved as much as working at Charlotte Russe. Every girl that works there is so beautiful and friendly, always willing to help anyone find that perfect outfit, or the finishing piece. There may be days when I don't feel like going in, but as soon as I am there the atmosphere just gets to me and puts such a huge smile on my face. I have been so blessed to work with all these incredible ladies, and many more not pictured above. I am ready to work my butt off in 2014, bring it on!

4. Amanda Rumble
Never in my life have I had a best friend that knows me as well as this girl right here. I don't think anyone else in the world could compete with how drastic our friendship is but I wouldn't change it for anything. We may argue, and even get in real fist fights, but this girl has my back more than anyone else. And she knows I have hers everyday as well. This past year has easily been the year that has tested our friendship the most, but I think we both know that we could never live without the other, because not only are we best friends, but she's the sister I never had, and I'm her third sister. If punching each other couldn't tear us apart, 2014 better up its game, because we're coming!

5. The Collegiate on Patterson
This past year I became even more of an adult by signing my first lease for an apartment for the next school year. As much as this terrifies me at times, I could not be more excited to start this new chapter in my life and see which curveballs I have to dodge now. August 8, 2014 cannot come fast enough!

6. My Mom
I've always been a momma's girl, but over the past year my mom has definitely become more of a best friend. As awkward as the conversations may get, I know that I can talk to her about anything, and usually she won't give the mom opinion unless absolutely necessary. She knows that I am growing up and venturing out on my own, but that I also need to be 5 years old still and talk in silly voices with my mommy. I can't wait to see how the relationship between my mom and I grows over the next year!

As with everyone, my year has consisted of much more than these six simple things, but not all can be captured in a picture. 2013 has been a year of changes, all mostly for the better, but a year full of fun times and great memories for sure. One of the major things I've learned: BE YOURSELF! It doesn't matter how many friends you have, or how much money you have, as long as you are comfortable being you, than you should be happy. Embrace the little things and remember that each day is precious, so try to treat it like its own mini adventure.

I hope you all have a wonderful New Year's, and I cannot wait to post most for you in 2014. I have some awesome ideas. Make sure to check out my friend Danyell's blog, the girl who got me started on all of this, something else I am very thankful for the past year.
Happy New Year's!
I love you
:)

Christmas!

Hello Gorgeous!!

Well the best time of year has been occurring for the past week now, and I can't even begin to explain how happy I have been. Being home from school, and away from the stress of work and homework, I have been able to relax with friends and family, something I desperately needed. It's this time of year that I remember just how thankful and blessed I am to have such a loving, caring family who I know will always be there for me. As everyone knows its wonderful to spend time with those you normally don't get to see throughout the year, but the presents are also one of the all time favorites!

These two pictures show the fun I had with my best friend, Amanda, at our birthday/Christmas gift exchange. Since her birthday is December 22nd, we just combine the two festive days. She's been my best friend for four years now, so obviously she knows me VERY well, and that shows with the presents she got me. The collapsable measuring cups and spoons are going to come in so handy in my new apartment next year, and I have already worn the hat to work twice! I love it! Now, the shirt is my absolutely favorite from her. Blake Griffin is my favorite NBA player, and having such a weird shirt is perfect!

Christmas morning with my mom and Robbie was so perfect! I didn't tell either of them what I wanted for Christmas so everything was a surprise, but they did AMAZING!!! Above are my favorite pictures of my mom and Robbie opening their presents and the last picture is everything that Robbie got me! I almost cried when I opened up my Squishy doll, plus I had No Idea about the headphones which are perfect! I didn't put any pictures up of what my mom gave me because there was just too much. She did get both of us new jackets which we modeled for her after opening all of the presents.

My dad's family Christmas was probably the best one in years! Everyone was is such a good mood, and you could just tell that holiday cheer was everywhere. Robbie got along with everybody and the kids all loved him, especially since he helped them set up their new toys. My cousins got an air hockey table and a foosball table, so the competitions were all day long. The top picture is everything that I got from my grandparents and my dad, which they did a great job as well. They also got me a hot pink PINK sweatshirt, which I am wearing in the bottom picture, while playing Crazy 8's with my cousin and aunt.

I didn't take any pictures at my mom's family Christmas because there was just too much going on, but it was just as wonderful. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season, and got to spend time with those closest to you.
I love you :)

Pet Peeves

Hello Gorgeous!!

I've been wanting to do this video for quite some time now, and figured Christmas break would be the best time! Enjoy!

Make sure to check out The ABCs of Me and see me get even more frustrated!

The song playing throughout this video was Christmas Is Coming Around Again by Scotty McCreery. I do not own this song, or the rights to it.

Christmas Pictures Round 1

Hello Gorgeous!!

As promised I will be posting an unbelievable amount of Christmas pictures, because this is my absolute favorite time of year! I just got home from school today and my house is so Christmas-y I can't even stand it! I couldn't help but take a few pictures and share them with you guys, but no worries, you'll be seeing the rest of my North Pole-esque house, as well as every Christmas-y place that I travel to over this break! Enjoy, and get in the Christmas spirit!

And believe it or not, we still have MORE presents to wrap. It's safe to say that my mom and I go a little overboard around the holidays, but I wouldn't have it any other way! I hope my little slice, and little preview, of my personal North Pole made you smile, bringing you at least some Christmas cheer!

2013 Review

Hello Gorgeous!!

It's been almost a week since my last post, but it feels like a month! Thank goodness finals are almost over!!!! Well it has officially hit that time of year again when Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and InstaGram become filled with all the memories, fads, and embarrassing moments from the past year. And let me tell you, 2013 was an interesting year. This post will be covering all the craziness, but closer to New Years I will do my own review of the year, and what it has meant to me!
I think this easily covers all that happened to the world in 2013, and some of it I even forgot about! Who didn't play Candy Crush at least once? And I can't tell you how much I've heard about PS4, XBOXOne, The Last Of Us and Bioshock Infinite from Robbie! Just take a look for yourself and see what you forgot about this past year.

Make sure you play the video in fullscreen because it's one of the best parodies I've ever seen. It was done by all the YouTube phenomenons that we have all come to know and love, and even some new faces that are sure to make 2014 a very funny year on YouTube.

And to top it all off, the music that made 2013 one of the best years ever! From the return of Miley Cyrus to Justin Timberlake making girls everywhere fall in love all over again. From Robin Thicke becoming a household name to even grandmas knowing What the Fox says. Watch and think back to all the amazing memories you've made the past year, and get even more pumped for 2014!!!!!!

Friday Favorites - Favorite Stores

Hello Gorgeous!!
'Tis the season for wishing, and today my Friday Favorites will consist of my favorite stores, and the items from that store that I wish I could afford right now.

1. Charlotte Russe - Of course my place of employment is my favorite store! We sell absolutely everything you would need to create that perfect look, and, at least at my store, we have the most helpful employees who are more that happy to help you get that ideal look.

2. Forever 21 - I have never seen a store have so many unique, diverse clothing options all in one place, plus the prices are wonderful! Even though we don't have one in Bloomington, I can't wait to go home for break and shop my heart out.

3. H&M - Thankfully one just opened up in the Bloomington mall, but I haven't had the money to get anything just yet. But as soon as the holidays are over I might go splurge! The clothes are so different than anything other stores sell, and the prices are surprisingly low.

4. Bath & Body Works - If you walk into my room, the first thing you'll notice is that I always have candles burning! They make my dorm feel like home, and definitely help me study. Plus, their lotion makes my skin so soft, and the body wash makes the dorm bathrooms not smell as bad.

5. Finish Line - Not that I shop here a lot, but I would never go anywhere else for tennis shoes, and their sweats are the most comfortable around. And not that I would buy anything other that IU and Butler apparel, Finish Line always has schools from around the country, which I really like.

I know that I haven't posted much this week, but projects and finals have been taking up all of my time. As soon as I am home on break, everything will be back to normal! Enjoy and have a great weekend! :)

Music Monday - Nick Pitera

Hello Gorgeous!!

So I'm sure most of you have already heard of and seen his videos, but this weeks Music Monday will be covering Nick Pitera. There are very few people in the world who can give me goosebumps when they sing, and Nick Pitera is one of them. His voice is crystal clear and his range is incredible. One of the first videos people usually see of Nick is his cover of "A Whole New World" from Aladdin.

I first heard this back in middle school, and at first I didn't believe it; there was no way a guy could have such a vocal register. But as a started researching him more and watching more videos, I began to fall in love with his voice. Below you will find some of my favorite videos from Nick Pitera that I hope you will come to love as well!
Happy Monday :)

Snowy Weekend

Hello Gorgeous!!
Over the past weekend Bloomington, Indiana, received a blanket of snow and I couldn't have been happier. Even though I am a spring baby, I love the snow, and getting a chance to play in the snow for the first time in years was great! Also, I attend the most beautiful campus in the country, and when there's snow on the ground, its even prettier. I got to have a snowball fight with Robbie, where he hit my right in the face!! We went sledding at his fraternity where they built ramp for us to go off, which even though I didn't go off any, Robbie looked like he had fun! Then we tried to build a snowman but it just wasn't working out :( This weekend was also another "first" for Robbie; we built his first gingerbread house!! And to cap off the fun filled weekend, I dyed my hair. It was supposed to become a lighter brown, but it basically just took the rest of the red dye out of my hair from last year, turning those parts light brown, while turning the rest of my hair darker. Even though it didn't do exactly what I wanted, but I really like how it turned out. I hope you all had a great weekend, and are ready for a great week ahead. :)
